WARNING
Mask use is contraindicated only in patients, their spouses, caregivers, and household members in close proximity to mask users and wearing metal medical devices/implantable metal objects that may be affected by magnets .
These masks may continue to be used according to the instructions and updated labeling if patients or persons near the patients do not have implantable metal medical devices or metal objects in the body.
What is a contraindication or warning?
A contraindication is a condition in which the device should not be used because the risk of use clearly outweighs any possible benefit. A warning is used to alert patients to a situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. Additionally, a warning may describe serious adverse reactions and potential safety risks. In summary, a contraindication tells the user when a device should not be used, and a warning tells the user how to avoid sources of danger when using the device.
Contraindication
Mask use is contraindicated only in patients, their spouses, caregivers, and household members in close proximity to mask users and wearing implantable devices that may be affected by magnets, including but not including limit yourself to:
• Cardiac pacemakers
• Implantable cardiovector defibrillators (ICD)
• Neurostimulators
• Magnetic metal implants/electrodes/valves placed in the upper limbs, torso, or higher (i.e., neck and head)
• CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) diversion (or shunt) (e.g. VP (ventriculoperitoneal) diversion)
• Aneurysm clips
• Metallic embolization coils
• Devices for disrupting intravascular flow during an intracranial aneurysm
• Metal skull plates, screws, burr hole shields and bone substitute devices
• Metal shards in the eye
• Eye implants (e.g. glaucoma implants, retinal implants)
• Some contact lenses containing metal
• Implants to restore hearing or balance, which contain an implanted magnet (such as cochlear implants, implantable bone conduction hearing implants, and hearing brainstem implants)
• Magnetic attachments for dental prosthesis
• Metal gastrointestinal clips
• Metallic stents (e.g., aneurysm, coronary, tracheobronchial, biliary stent)
• Implantable ports and pumps (e.g., insulin pumps)
• Hypoglossal nerve neurostimulators
• Devices marked as not compatible with MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)
• Magnetic metal implants not marked as MRI compatible or assessed for safety in a magnetic field
Warning
Magnets with a magnetic field strength of less than 400 mT are used in the mask. With the exception of devices identified in the contraindication, ensure that the mask is kept at a distance of at least 15.24 cm (approximately) from any other implant or medical device that may be affected by the fields magnetic fields, in order to avoid the possible effects of localized magnetic fields. This includes household members, caregivers and spouses who may be in close proximity to patients using the masks.

Wisp CPAP Mask Features:
Innovative and lightweight design
Compact cushion size with minimal face contact
The frame and harness layout create an unobstructed field of vision.
The inflatable cushion ensures a secure and comfortable fit.
Fabric or silicone frame option Three cushion sizes are included, with a total of four cushion sizes available.
A compact design with a clear view
The Philips Wisp CPAP mask offers the same performance as a traditional nasal mask, but in a much more compact form.
The small footprint of the cushion creates an effective seal with minimal contact with the face for greater comfort.
The headgear and surround also anchor the mask in place without obstructing the field of vision, so users can watch TV or read in bed without distraction.
The Wisp mask also adapts easily to glasses.
Flexible tube for freedom of movement
A short flexible tube with rotating swivel connects the Wisp cushion to the hose. This flexibility allows patients to have greater freedom of movement to better adapt to changes in sleeping position for restless sleepers.
Easy adjustment for a personalized fit
The Wisp CPAP mask offers easy adjustment thanks to the harness clips. However, the Wisp mask is designed so that patients do not need to tighten the headgear to create a good seal. Instead, the Wisp's cushion inflates with air to form the mask's seal, so feel free to loosen things up and get comfortable.
Three cushion sizes are included with the Wisp CPAP mask: Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large.
A fourth cushion size, Small, is also available as an accessory, and all four Wisp CPAP replacement cushions can be purchased individually. The variety of cushion sizes allows almost everyone to find an efficient and comfortable fit. In fact, Philips Respironics claims that Wisp mask sizes fit over 98% of patients.
Comfort enhancement options
The Wisp CPAP mask further improves comfort by offering two surround options - silicone or fabric. The translucent silicone surround appears smaller and is less visible when worn. The fabric surround is reversible, with a soft and supple suede on one side and a silky satin that looks like a pillow on the other. The fabric frame option may appeal to patients who prefer to sleep on their side.
